Captain Deger Pamuk is the Head of P&I for our Turkish team. In addition to overseeing P&I claims and correspondency for Clubs, he attends on casualties within the Monopoly area and elsewhere in Turkey and assists in salvage and towage issues, investigations of pollution and human injuries/loss of life as well as negotiations with local authorities.
A Turkish national, he has behind him 11 years of sea service in a Turkish shipping company where he served onboard tankers and cape size bulk carriers and attained the rank of Master.
He also has seven years of management experience within a Turkish shipping and ship agency company, where he worked as technical supervisor organising and supervising repairs at Tuzla shipyards and as General Manager of the agency department in which capacity his responsibilities included liaising with Turkish authorities involving incidents in the Straits.
Captain Pamuk has a deep understanding of the local shipping industry and is regularly called upon to appear as a guest speaker at international shipping events.
